Press Release NSW: Australia Using Virtual High Schools To Reach Gifted Students in Remote Areas #in

One of the things that I try to keep track of on this blog is how other countries are using Social Media, eLearning and Web 2.0 in education. I’ve found that Australia is one of the countries that does the best job leveraging these technologies to support their education system. There’s a link here to a .pdf that’s a release for NSW the New South Wales Department of Education and Training about their inititative to use virtual high schools as an option for gifted students in remote areas. As the US sees more and more school closings (Kansas City has decided to close almost half of its public schools), could a model like this be used to service student needs? Check out the press release here. Link
